I went here to volunteer (pulling up invasive saplings) ... Anchorage has beautiful parks

Trails & trailsides are clean (still a little leftover icy snow - take care not to slip! - in some shadier spots). Lots of walkers, bicyclists, people with their dogs (all leashed); folks seemed courteous & friendly. Looks like a very popular area. I saw one tent about 50 ft back in some woods; no trash or debris around, tho.

Great hiking trails around the lake. Very close to town. Excellent trout fishing. I have heard of leeches in this lake, but have not seen any this spring. My dog loves to swim here. No problems yet. Only downside is that you will find sketchy druggies hanging out here very early morning (when I fish). Mid-day and afternoon, this lake is super fun, but busy. River runs right next to it to the North.

Its a scenic park with lots of people walking or bike riding up an down cambell creek which has miles of wilderness to explore. It is always a treat visiting this local treasure. Get your kids out or take your dog along. Good times by all.
