One of the most beautiful kid friendly nature walk in Boston area.
Daniel Wendel
We visited on a Tuesday afternoon, and it felt like we had stepped into a remote wilderness by ourselves. It was beautiful and peaceful, and we saw at least 10 species of birds and a pair of deer as we walked around Turtle Pond. It was a little strange to hear the students on the neighboring athletic field, as if a tear in the fabric of spacetime has somehow inserted a fancy, modern athletic center inside an ancient forest. In reality the Habitat is the impostor, a patch of wilderness surrounded by suburb, but it really does still feel wild and unspoiled, particularly during midweek hours. Note: the walking trails are free, but the education center requires a small per-person fee or Mass Audubon membership.

A cute little park! The turtle pond had many, well, turtles, but also a lot of frogs and tadpoles (real big ones!). We also saw a deer grazing in the meadow. Parking is right on the trails. The visitor center was closed. The park is just minutes drive from our place, which is a huge help.

Wonderful place to hike for a nature walk. Took me about an hr in a half to do the whole thing. Lots of bugs trying to get in my mouth and nose though..wear bug spray.

You need to put your name on a waiting list to be assigned a plot. On your own plot what you grow is yours.
Yes
They say 100 guests, but we had 85 and it was a bit cozy. Really depends on seating arrangements and inside vs outside.
