Perfect early-afternoon excursion with friends and colleagues! I would highly recommend for any group outing, friends or family. There was a nice breeze and enough people peddling that we didnβt get too hot or too tired. The staff was super friendly and very helpful! Lots of great photo ops and historical tidbits along the way!

I booked a birthday excursion with Rail Explorers and it was an overall great experience. Booking was easy, the service was awesome! The ride was faster than I thought it would be. Iβm not sure if this is the best view in RI? But I would definitely book again, a different route..

I really enjoyed this I had to book a few weeks in advance because when they opened it was booking really quick It's such a nice bike/rail ride (my workout for the day). The sunset was soo precious. Me and my friend did the 2 person rail bike but there were 4 rail bike and connected rail bikes which was cool. The break spot had a good view of the newlort bridge which I really enjoyed.

Absolutely recommend! My girlfriend and I both enjoyed the experience, very fun and relaxing, we went on a Saturday 8/21 and it was perfect. You have to book your tickets in advance. The ride is roughly 3 miles out and 3 miles back. About 35 minutes each way. Once you get to the end you get 30 minutes to hang out on Adirondack chairs over looking the bay before your return trip. I recommend packing a lunch and some drinks πΉ π»

I don't think it matters there .. I believe it was a round trip.. .first part was near the coast .. And the second part was in a wooded scenery. It's all continuous. It's a great time !
I dealt with them through email, they were very easy to deal with.
I would make sure you have 2 hours allotted for the whole excursion. But you go for own pace. About an hour and half biking
Hi Pamela, the is from our FAQ page: "Can children ride the rail explorers?" Yes! The explorers are easy to ride and children are welcome. Children must be accompanied by a rider at least 16 years of age to operate the brakes. Groups of children can ride on their own explorer, provided it is coupled to an adult's explorer. For safety all riders must be secured in their own seat. The only exception is infants, who must be secured in a chest harness to an adult rider. Infants in a chest harness travel free. Younger children may not be able to reach the pedals but can be safely buckled in to enjoy the ride. We offer toddler harnesses for additional security for little explorers. It is not safe for children to be seated on your lap and this is strictly forbidden.
Thry maynot be monitoring this. This forum goes out to people who have visited Rail Explorers. If they havent gotten back to you I would call them. Its a great auction item!
Maybe. I think we were peddling about 1-1/2 to 2 hours. I'd contact the rail company. I believe you need reservations as well.
$85 for 2 as of 2020
One is a round trip.3 miles out and then you pedal the same 3 miles back. The other is 6 miles. You get a bus trip back. You see more on the 6 mile trip
No they have big umbrella to use at each train bike.
You get on the rails at 1 Alexander Rd. Look for the flags on the left side of the road. I believe they are red with white writing. As for the cost. It's a per seat cost. A tandem seater cost $75. A quad seater cost $125. There is a small booking fee too. I think we paid $3 for that.
Remember you're renting the rail car not a seat. So if you are single find a friend to fill the second seat on a double, or if you have three on a quad, find a fourth. The price stays the same whether you fill the rail bike or not.
What is your handicap? It is not wheelchair accessible or really for a walker.the seats are for each person to be able to peddle and hold on.
Yes, they have several. On their website and when you get there they hand you a little booklet that contains the map and points of interest along your route.
There are small baskets for personal items under your seats (both front and back seats if you're doing quad) I would say a Very small cooler....maybe lunchbox size. Enjoy!
I donβt believe they allow dogs.
No, these are heavy duty rail cars.
Free parking is available
I have to agree with Gerald. The cars don't have much room.
All throughout the day. The southern is 8am or evening. The northern is 11am. Thier website has a better list and any special rides, like the eclipse watcher. Ride.
