My dad rented an auger snake on 2/25/22 around 1:23 in the afternoon. He rented it on a Friday and we were to return it at 9 am on Monday 2/28/22. It is a $65 a day rental (not sure if it depends on the item being rented), but because they are closed on the weekend we needed to return it on Monday. It was great! it gave us a few days to determine if we were going to actually purchase one, but it also helped up to determine if the problem we are having needs to be done immediately so we appreciated that timeline. I didn't go with my dad to rent it, but he had a very positive experience renting it. They were helpful and knowledgeable and could tell my dad knew what he was doing. They load the item into your car and unload it when you return so that is a plus because I was the one to return the auger and I was concerned I wasn't going to be able to lift it by myself. They were very kind and helpful when I returned the auger. I was a little late returning it by 7 mins and I was worried they would charge me for a day. This place seems honest and helpful, the staff is definitely friendly and the price was perfect! Thank you guys for a positive experience!

Gary Harris has been great and has made sure equipment is where it should be when he said it would be there. All equipment has operated properly as well

I rented a square buff sander from United recently and it worked perfectly. I was refinishing oak floors and this option is better than dying of old age hand sanding it. The one day rental was $75, which is not the cheapest in town but I was not disappointed with the results. The condition of their equipment was exemplary as compared to a recent home depot orbital sander rental which cost me a day of work because the equipment wasnt maintained correctly. Considering renting equipment is their primary business it is clear they take pride in their equipment and I'd have no qualms about coming back in the future.

Questions & Answers

What's the right earthmoving equipment for my job?

Excavators are heavy-duty diggers. Typically, the deeper the hole, the bigger the machine required. They can drill, break rocks, create trenches or dig large holes for foundations. A compact excavator is ideal for heavy digging in a tight space. Loaders are perfect for scooping up loose material and depositing it elsewhere. They move well in soft soil but cannot dig very deeply. Bulldozers' giant blade attachments can push large quantities of dirt, debris, shrubs or building remains to where you want them. A bulldozer can also be outfitted with a rear "ripper" that can tear through rock and soil.

How do I calculate excavator bucket capacity and volume?

Ensuring you have the right size bucket for your project is important for proper production and reducing wear and tear on the equipment. There are several factors to consider and calculations to perform to determine the correct bucket. Generally, you'll use OEM specifications, including the maximum lift capacity, bucket weight and bucket capacity. Find more information and how to calculate whether the capacity of your bucket will work in the United Rentals article, “How to Choose the Right Bucket for Your Excavator or Wheel Loader.”

What size skid steer do I need?

The size of skid steer depends on the job you wish to perform. The smallest skid steers typically have a rated operating capacity (ROC) of about 700 pounds and an overall weight of about 3,000 pounds. This smaller size is ideal for a homeowner project as it can usually fit through a walkthrough backyard gate. A very large skid steer can have an ROC in the 3,000-plus-pound range for someone who doesn’t have room for a full-size backhoe or wheel loader. Read more about the seven factors to consider when renting a skid steer from United Rentals.
