I can say from personal experience only come if you are seriously ready to make real changes to yourself and honest commitments to helpful people. Booze owned me for 20 years. I've dealt with jails, institutions, rehabs, divorce, loss of employment, and friends and family giving up on me, but nothing inspired me to put down the bottle. Tomorrow, I will have 15 months sober, and for that I am eternally grateful and mostly credit New Directions. This is a recovery house, not just a sober-living or flop house situation. Nothing has been asked of me which I shouldn't already be doing to be a productive member of society: refrain from drugs and alcohol, attend meetings in the community to build positive social networks, come home at a decent time, and serve others. Sure, there's about two pages of rules to follow, but all of them have my sobriety and safety in mind, and none of them kept me away from going to parks, beaches, movies, concerts, museums, etc. Under the New Direction banner I have learned about integrity, self confidence and peace of mind. I have learned more about my worth and potential here than some semesters in college. The friends I have made during my stay are not the types who will fade away once I leave. Once you've had enough, come get some of this.

New Directions has been a big help to me. Ownership, staff and residents. I have personally received and seen them go above and beyond helping residents including myself with paperwork, scheduling, community resources, everything needed to function. Everything. Just the right touch of firm but loving. A big family really. Sometimes in life its been hard to keep it all together and I've seen how this place offers care, oversight and a hand up, even when someones really struggling or even fighting it. Maturity, Wisdom, Strength and Compassion is the driving force behind New Directions. Founded by a leader who had the vision to decide to EARN a living helping those who many would turn their back on. Tough job, but it's done in a human way, down home. Thanks New Directions.

Pam and Rachel have helped me immensely. I've reached the lowest point in my life. Saying that I am grateful for them and their help does not put into perspective exactly How helpful, How inspirational and how huge their impact has had on my (low point) life. They are assisting me with the small things, because I can't do any of the big things until these small things are done. And in helping with these small things, it helps me accomplish my bigger dreams and goals. I'm not there... Yet! But you know the old cliche, it's not the destination, it's the journey. Well Pam and Rachel have been great. They know what they're doing. How? Why? Because they've been where we've all been on our worst days and have not only survived but thrived. And they're taking their knowledge and experiences and decided to help others. Maybe help you. If you're ready for a change, if you want something better or more from your life, if you're tired and had enough of being on the bottom, Pam, Rachel and the rest of the staff can help you. I will warn you of only one thing; YOU are ultimately responsible for your life, the good and the bad. If you want it to be good but continue to do poor choices and lue, you cannot blame the program of A New Direction. If you're not ready to Help yourself, and don't listen to them or have a set back, was it or is it your fault or theirs? Come in when you are ready to Help yourself and they will help you too. But don't expect them to help (even though they will still try) if you can't or won't help yourself. AP3

People are so quick to make a review on a place they have a bad experience at but will never make a review on a place they have a pleasant experience at. I can attest to most of the bad reviews on here being tenants who DID NOT FOLLOW THE RULES and were asked to leave. I have been here about 2 months and could not be happier with the entire establishment. Each house has a house manager that really cares about the growth of each client. The cleanliness of the house is the responsibility of the clients (chores) but the Director of the organization (Pam) and the house managers stay on the clients butts to keep it up. Everyone here is treated like family, so much that there are clients that have been here for YEARS and do not want to leave. If you are in recovery or coming from the system and need a safe, clean, pleasant, family oriented pace to stay i would highly recommend. It will not be a walk in the park! The facility has rules that have to be followed in order to stay living here.

If I am understanding you correctly, you are asking for a list of our residents. We practice the HIPPA guidelines, and our residents are kept confidential. If a resident gives us permission in writing, then we can communicate with the person designated by the resident. Does this help?

There were bed bugs in the past, AND admits that. Bed bugs are easy to get and hard to get rid of but the proper steps were taken and they are no longer. Bed bugs can come from clients belongings or used furniture etc. those buggers are GREAT hitchhikers. The bad reviews were given by clients that used and had to leave, or did not want to follow rules and had to leave. Bed bugs were all that they can say to get others to stay away. You are more than welcome to come to the facility and make your own conclusion. The clients living here would attest to that as well. There are far more good reviews proving that the facilities are beneficial!
