I'm not sure if this place is in business. Drove there to drop off an injured baby opossum and no one was there during business hours. The doors had locks on the outside so no one could of been in there. I didnt hear any animals in the office. Or see any in the cages out back or in the field. Very sad they couldn't help me but I did find Mandarin animal hospital who takes them in and contacts the correct wild life people that can help. Hope this helps anyone in need.

Bring a bag of carrots and just pull up by the fence and all the animals will come running but you need to have a bucket like a red bucket and just be down the fence and they'll all come running out to the edge so just park on the side of the road

WRC is severely underfunded and is always in need of donations and volunteers but still manages to save almost 2,000 animals every year! They do the best they can with what little they are given. They are in need of supplies, cages, food, money, and at least 1/2 an acre more of land. If you can help in anyway please contact them!

I work at another Wildlife Rehab Facility. The position is extremely hard both physically and mentally. We work long hours. Don't get me wrong, we absolutely LOVE what we do or we wouldn't do it. The public needs to understand that we do not make more than minimum wage and often volunteer time too because our government, ALL LEVELS - DO NOT I repeat DO NOT support wildlife. What an atrocity that they do not support Native Wildlife. So we rely on the generosity of the people who bring us the orphaned and injured critters. Yes maybe it takes us time to answer your call but we are probably caring for one of our critters. Maybe our tone of f voice is a little gruff, we may be needing to get back to a procedure or feed a baby, or just plain exhausted. Think of your day sometimes how you feel. Please ease up on us and think of the good we do for our native wildlife that if not for us they wouldn't have a chance to survive. And yes please reach deep into your pocket and donate if you can and call your government representatives and tell them to support us!

Its a bat and a lady is coming tomorrow to get him
She can bring it here and We can species it and suggest her to local non kill shelters if it's a puppy. For more in-depth answers, we recommend messaging us on facebook. (:
You can volunteer on their website to hold them. Idk about adopting, I think their main goal is to set them back in the wild
No they do not take birds. B.E.A.K.S. is the best option
Awwh.. How sad.. I would get ahold of these guys. They are well equipt to take care of babies such as that, they do baby squirrels, raccoons and possums often!
Try contacting them & find out what steps to take & type of help needed. They are great, have helped me with several baby squirrels , including a flying one.😄 good luck🙏 & Thanks for wanting to help.
Hi Barbara, I just pass this place on the way home. i stopped by and asked about the armadillo. Yes is your answer and the number is 779-5569.😊
Hi Tammie! Yes of course we take in all native wildlife. We have open intake hours 10-2 everyday. If you need it taken in to care tonight please call our hotline or message us on Facebook.
Yes we do help injured native wildlife
I think Beaks on Talbot island would be an option.
I'm certain they will/do. Just give them a call prior to drop-off.
No.
This is the place to go! Call them first and tell them you have a baby pig. There might be a farm or petting zoo that would be better equipped for a pig. But these girls will know exactly what to do. Make sure to donate to them. If they close down, there is nowhere else to take infant exotic animals around here.
No. But you can get a small animal trap at "Harbor Freight" (least expensive retail option), and catch it yourself. Then bring the trap in, after caught.
No. Rescue and release
I believe it is all volunteers that work there. They help all kinds of wildlife and take excellent care of them. Rehabilitate them to be able to make it back in the wildlife. They work on donations.
Good questions! Yes they take volunteers but because of safety reasons and working around wild animals, the minimum age at this time is 17. And yes absolutely. The mission of WRC is to rescue wildlife and nurse them back to health to be released back into the wild. They are a very friendly bunch. You should give them a call or visit and tell them you are interested in learning more about them.
Also try celestial farms on Duval rd near the airport.. they take all types og animals
not sure , but maybe not
Yes!
Kathy is correct the animals are rehabilitated and released
They only do native species but they may be able to put you in touch with someone that could help if it's a domestic rabbit. We do have wild rabbits that live here, if that what she is I'm sure they would take her.
Yes!!
Exotic birds hospital
Yes they do
Yes, much like any adoption place they will have rehoming forms for you to fill out.
This is not a sanctuary but rather a rescue /rehabilitation center! Love birds are birds that need a mate. I would suggest getting another, do release your baby, it will not survive.
Its very hard to deter racoons from going where they want to. It seems there may be an attraction there for him. Be sure not to leave food out for other animals at night. If you have a pond or even a kiddy pool or other sources of standing water racoons will LOVE to wash their food in it. Also be sure that your garbage is locked down. You may want to clear your yard of any excess foliage where he can hide and now thats its oak nut season, to rake up excess nuts which they will eat. If you can't lock your trash put something heavy on top of it. Your only other alternative is to trap and relocate him which could be dangerous, so get the help of an experienced trapper.
They only do wildlife. You need to contact a dig rescue or shelter for help.
Main thing is keep her warm. Riverside vet. On park st. Dr. Rossi is only vet I know will see a squirrel.
I do not work there but as part of my daughter's requirement for graduation in high school she must perform community service. I asked about it there and they said yes. They take all the volunteer help they can get. If your child likes being around animals and learning their habits this would be an excellent choice. Hope this helps and good luck to your child.
Another place specializes in birds..its called B.E.A.K.S. They are off heckaher drive...I don't have the number on hand but you can Google it...and this wildlife rescue is very understaffed and under funded..they are very busy and take on a lot of responsibility for no pay they are volunteers...we all should be very grateful..they don't have the money to help birds...so call B.E.A.K.S. They specialize in birds...FYI I don't work there...I'm just trying to poit you to the correct place
I started volunteering here when i was 16. There's a tom of mosquitoes and the kid will probably clean more than care for the animals due to the risk of exposure to rabies and the harm of animals. For more information, message us on Facebook. (:
If you contact them , they might be able to help. Usually take in orphans & hurt wildlife.
If wild bunny, they should take it , call them. They are on Seaboard Ave. on Westside off Timiquana. Good luck.
Amanda, I’m so sorry you never received a call back we had some serious issues with our phone lines a while back but now they’re all back up and running with an amazing phone team! Thank you so much for helping us by donating! It’s people like you and our amazing volunteers that keep this place running!
If you’re every unsure where one of our drop off locations are or the times they’re open never be afraid to call us! We have an excellent phones team in place now who will be sure to do everything they can to point you in the right direction!
