We have been multiple times and we highly recommend staying here! Beautiful sceneryπ Hiking and fishing available at Emerald Lake. $8 per day for fishing at Emerald Lake. $22 per day to camp at Elbert Creek Campground. Vault toilets are available. Many campsites are on the creek. Plenty of shade available. You can hike the two tallest 14ers near this campground!

Nice big campsites with plenty of water and bathrooms around. Not a whole lot of internet service up there. Really liked being able to camp and just hit the trailhead in the morning without having to drive. From what I was told you can camp a certain distance from the creek for free. We just paid the $22 for an actual campsite. Well worth it.

It's beautiful! Bathrooms were clean for a vault, water at the pump had been compromised so bring a filter.

We camped here for 4 days. This is a great place to camp if you are going to hike Mt.Elbert and Mt. Massive. Camp is right next to trail head. This camp has vault toilet and is very clean. This place is good for families and kids also. Out place was the first one on the left once you enter the campsite. It was kind of close to halfmoon Rd. There were quite a few ATVs driven on this road during late night and early mornings which disturbed the sleep. If possible, get a campsite on creek side instead of halfmoon road side.

Smooth up until you enter the forest. It's best to have a vehicle focused for off-road or all-terrain because it gets pretty rough about half a mile into the dusty dirt road! We went in a front wheel drive mid-size sedan and it was an... interesting ride to say the least
We showed up around 6 pm on Friday Memorial Day weekend and there were several sites open. It may have been because it was the opening weekend though.
