Great campground, with some cool rock features. Plenty of space between sites. Thisnis site 13, most sites have more trees

Really nice campground. Clean with a great camp-host. Fairly simple/basic sites with good views. Some noise from youth camp across main road (not too bad). Would definitely return.

Love, love Painted Rocks Campground. This has been our go-to Campground for 20 years. Clean outhouses, great camp hosts. We did have bears 🐻 join us one weekend, so be sure to keep any food locked in your vehicle!

We tent camped in #4 spot. This is a great spot if you have kids or pets camping with you. Lots of trees and open space. No bugs! Only 2 cars can fit.

Is there cell phone reception at the campground?

Maybe. I was able to consistently get 1-3 bars on my LG Stylo 4 device through Boost Mobile (with the original Sprint SIM card. Note: Boost was sold to Dish Network as part of T-Mobile's buyout of Sprint.) Network analyzer said my LTE data was coming from a Sprint tower 14.2 miles away. So your mileage may vary.

Do you have to make reservations?

Sooner Arrow | Sep 20, 2020

No but the "First come, first served" campsites in campground are few in numbers and for weekend use you should be physically in the park NLT 11:00am on Thursday to claim one, so you can occupy one as soon as the previous campers "must depart" time of Noon. On Sunday through Wednesday arrivals you shouldn't have an issue. Whenever you arrive, look for an "Open" sign on an unoccupied campsite. These are the "First come, first served" campsites. Then please go check in Camp Host.

Do they got showers

None on-site. Closest public showers would be Mueller State Park, 14 miles away just south of Divide, CO. Call before you go though.
