I just photographed a wedding here and this church was amazing. From the gentlemen that was more than helpful showing me around to the construction crew that made sure we knew they would stop working prior to the wedding. There were some great spots for photos with the sun behind us.. so ideal. I'm posting some photos for inspiration.. and the church doors are soooooo beautiful. ~Maria • Pink Heart Photography

Here at CUCC you will find a love and life affirming congregation. It is a mainline Protestant, but very progressive, church that truly practices what it preaches — “All are welcome here.” Here, you will be welcomed with open arms and open minds.

Our family met the church through the childcare center on the church grounds. We decided to try it out one day, and the welcome we received was oh so very warm. This is a progressive, congregational church, so there are plenty of opportunities to meet new people from all walks of life. For a family with little kids (like us), this place is perfect. We never felt out of place bringing our family there, and we made amazing friends whom we will carry with us forever. Also, Jacob and Jen bring great energy to the pulpit! They are incredible.

We've come to the CUCC when our daughter and grandkids moved to Claremont. We're here on average once a month or so. Like others have shared, there is a welcoming atmosphere and the church seems to do a lot of community service and outreach. But what has impressed me the most when my wife and I have come to Sunday services is the preparation the pastors must put into their sermons. For me, it's great to hear the historical context of the Biblical passages presented in ways that a layperson can understand. Add to that, it is a beautiful church and they close with a solo from the organist on that amazing instrument.

Yes. CUCC is a welcoming and affirming congregation. There are many LGBTQ individuals who participate in all aspects of the church as well as Another Voice which is a group specifically for LGBTQ individuals and allies.

I am an atheist looking for a friendly/progressive community. Would I be welcome? I know this might sound like trolling, it is not though. I have heard a lot of good things about this church.

Hi, Patrick! This is Jacob. My wife, Jen, and I are co-pastors at the church. Yes, you would definitely be welcome. We have other members of the church who openly identify as atheist but who are invested in the community and the justice work that we do together. While we are a Christian church, we are non-credal, meaning there is not a specific set of beliefs that one has to attest to in order to be part of the church. We invite people to think for themselves and be part of the spiritual journey they we are all on—Christians and otherwise. Feel free to reach out if you’d like to chat more and if you come to a Sunday service, would love if you introduced yourself.
