It is great to be back on park life. This is a great park. Pathways are well maintained, and the Rangers were enthusiastically amazing. The banana slugs are hard to find. Parking needs to be planed, so reserve with time. There is low WiFi reception, but you could reserve the parking online almost at the last minute if there is availability. It is worth the visit.

Beautiful state park with many miles of hiking trails. I've seen dogs and horses on the trails. Great views of the nature around. Definitely recommend a visit.

My room mates and I went on our very first hike together!!! Two of them are pretty skilled at their hiking ability, the rest of us…well, we went for fun;) but it was such an amazing time. So wholesome, the weather and atmosphere was amazing. The park is so well kept, with good maps and directions. We were so happy to cross this one off our list, and after doing this hike we decided that we want to go on more together:)

One of my favorite hikes in the bay area. I usually try to go during the week, because the weekends can get busy. I camped here multiple times and have the best outdoors experience everytime. There's a wonderful trail down to the beach too. Also heads up, if you want to camp - it's first come first serve, try to get there early.

There are campgrounds that they wpuld prefer you use, but i would suggest calling ahead about primitive canping like that.
Mount Tam is pet friendly but you'll need to keep your animal on a leash.
Online
The time of closing changes every day as it is at sunset. Yes, the park is closed at sunset. There is no more entering the park after that time. The ranger then drives the roads to kick people out. If you do not leave before the ranger locks the gates, you will receive a ticket and get locked in.
No, mostly not, and probably not.
West Point Inn - They should take online reservations.
Drive to top, lookout will be there n little walk/hike
My tamalpais is a state park. Most of their sites are close to parking . Pt.Reyes national Seashore has many backpacking sites, and is only a few miles north. Check both National and State park websites
There is accessible parking. The trail to the summit is quite narrow, rocky, and would need stepping on rocks for balance and support to go ahead with the hike. I highly doubt if there's any accessible trail to the peak. However you can get close to the peak with a wheelchair. The visitor center was close/non functional when i visited, on a Sunday. Not sure of accessible camping sites/restrooms
You have to call the number on your reservation pdf to reserve California. Or call the Mt. Tam number and they can give it to you as well. You will need your reservation #.
For Muir Woods you need to reserve parking online. But for the rest of the park you don't.
There are still picnic tables at Rock Springs. They are just up the little hill under the oak trees to the right of the trail head with the information sign. There are 3-4 tables there. There are more tables if you feel like walking to the amphitheater.
Yes u can. Lots of street parking available near the matt davis trailhead and stinson beach
