My tamalpais is a state park. Most of their sites are close to parking . Pt.Reyes national Seashore has many backpacking sites, and is only a few miles north. Check both National and State park websites
We went tent camping there in September. They have a season where they take reservations. But it was first come first serve when we went.

You can camp at Pantoll ranger station or Bootjack. That's about it for the park. No dispersed camping is allowed. There's also cabins at Westpoint inn, but they're hard to reserve
