Santa Clara swim center is truly a gem, and I would like to give it a 4.5 rating, but that isn't possible. Why only 4 out of 5? The swim center is showing its age and needs significant funding to upgrade each of the pools. But it's still a 4.5****

Not sure if they have fixed times, I was once told by a staff member that they open during busy days and when they have staff on call...
Yes, still free for seniors and all lanes are open on 1st come, first serve basis. Rules have changed since covid and may change again since covid is increasing.
I have seen adults swim at night after the kids' swim practices...I am sure they probably open a lane or two in the evenings for adults... contact then just to be sure :)
I go to noon swim. It is from 12pm to 1:30. There are lanes for organized workouts and lap swimming.
Water temp hovers around 79-81. You must bring your own equipment.
