I came in to get my very first Passport for an upcoming trip. The woman that helped me was very kind, patient and explained everything to me. I understood exactly what to expect. I live very close to a DMV but I plan on getting my tabs here this weekend.

Right as I walked in yesterday afternoon, Mark Buckwheat was asking those of us in the waiting area what we were in for. I told him a title transfer, and he looked it over and right away noticed a problem. Took me over to get a correction form to take home. Got here early today, and he did the same, asking what we were there for. He helped another gentleman and then came back out and asked around, then helped me. I've definitely been here before and waited my fair share of hours in the past. We all know that's how it goes at the DMV (Zootopia, anyone?!) So it was amazing to have someone who took ownership and went out of his way to help out with the main waiting line when his line for tab renewals was empty. Thanks, Mark!

On a Saturday, tons of people waiting. They have two people doing tabs. One person calling numbers and one lady walking g around the lobby asking people why they are there and making sure they have all their paperwork. The problem is she kept sending people with questions to the only person calling numbers. We stood in the tab line and were helped right away and were told for a renewal we had to take a number. We then watched the other person doing tabs help several people in the tabs line with several things including renewals. The process is ridiculous. There are people here that stood outside before they opened to get in line and tons of people that came in after all of us have already been helped. While we all stand here an hour later. They need actual management and a process that works.

Friendly, comfortable, efficient. Much nicer than any license center I have been at. My deputy was friendly and knew exactly what to do for an Enhanced DL. The gentleman circulating getting folks the paperwork to fill out while waiting was friendly and made things go faster. Thanks to New Brighton!

Yes you can! Make sure to check out the State of Minnesota's website DVS.DPS.MN.GOV to get more information on the types of Driver's License's available to residents. If you are just renewing a standard DL all you need is the application and a form of payment. We accept check, cash and credit cards with an additional 2.49% fee.
They do complete license renewal at this location now.

No, you have to schedule your appointment with an exam station. You can find a list of locations on the states website: Dvs.Dps.MN.gov.
Yes, due to the change of address you would have to go into an office. The states online renewal option is purely for those who are NOT making any changes to their Driver's License.
Yes! You have to make an appointment through our city License Bureau page. Super easy! Currently, due to the peacetime emergency, all driver's licenses that expired from the time that the executive order went in place in March, to the present are extended until October 31, 2020.
I would suggest calling though. They might require an appointment, or be able to squeeze you in at a certain time. But you won't want to go and wait in line only to be turned away.
