Did you know that there is a little apple orchard about 15 minutes St. Paul? Orchard Hill Apple Orchard is a quick drive, on Wentworth Avenue in West St. Paul. It is not pick your own and they don't have activities, but it's a nice little orchard with a cute jam-packed shop with apples and jam and honey and pies and irresistible-to-kids Halloween stuff. If you take Dodd Trail and go right on Wentworth the kiddos get a fun hilly up and down ride. (And afterwards, if you go west past Dodd, there is a very nice park with play equipment and some trails.) This does not have all kinds of glitz and glamor. It's small and you park on the grass. But the people are really nice, and for a very short get away with the kids it would be fun. I'm not sure if you can go wander through the orchard; you'd have to ask.

We love this hidden gem! We found it last year when we wanted to visit an orchard, but didn’t want to be in huge crowds in the midst of Covid. The folks here are so kind and it’s just a sweet little place

This is the sweetest apple shop in the twin cities! Apples even in the summer. It’s not the “traditional” type apple orchard where you go pick the apples, with the hay rides, it’s really where you go to stock up on your beauties to make apple pies! I have to call ahead each month to see what’s in season, because I never can remember which apples are in and when. This orchard has some very special breeds that no one else has. So good! 🌟

Excited to come back this year for more apples! Such a wonderful place with kind people. Apples are always delicious. We made some homemade cinnamon applesauce with their apples last year and that was probably the best batch of applesauce so far!
