Religious education runs kindergarten through freshman year in high school. First communion classes are in 2nd grade, and follow the school year schedule meeting weekly on Sunday mornings before the 10:15 mass.

Paul is correct. It is called the Presider's chair. There are three focal points in the sanctuary during the Mass: the Ambo (lectern, pulpit), the Altar, and the Presider's chair.
