Where do I begin? We only employed this agency for 2 overnight caregiver shifts, which is exactly how long it took me to realize that the franchise owner, Larry, is quite possibly the biggest liar I've ever met. Our initial phone conversation went so well that I couldn't wait to meet him in person and finally find solutions to some of our ongoing overnight care issues, but most of all I couldn't wait to see how their caregivers would meet and even exceed our expectations (as promised by Larry). He promised that the first caregiver he sent was the very best he had, that he would trust his own mother with her, that she was a great conversationalist and a real problem solver. Well, folks, she was none of those things. She had the personality of a shoe, which is forgivable if one is good at their job, but she wasn't. Instead of problem solving, she called and woke me multiple times throughout the night for every little thing. She seemed flustered by basic directions and clearly was going to struggle to manage my mom's requests autonomously. So I requested another caregiver the next day after one very sleepless night. So the next night Larry introduced me to his "second best" caregiver. #2 was a little better at making conversation, but turned downright narcoleptic sometime around 12:30am (which I know because I stayed up until 2am to make sure everything was going well). Uneasy with #2's penchant for nodding off, I went to check on mom and caregiver at 3am to find the caregiver fast asleep and my mom desperately trying to wake her. Caregiver #2 awoke a few minutes later and explained that she was tired and going to head home now. At 3am. Which would be fine except her shift was supposed to go until 7. So I let her leave, took over her shift and contacted Larry in the morning. And what did Larry do? He tried to convince me to reconsider Shoe Personality because she really is the best, but if I wouldn't then he would send his third best caregiver, who I can only assume is an axe murderer. 0/10. Do not recommend.

My father passed away in February 2013 and my family was suddenly placed in a situation where we immediately had to arrange care for my mom who had been diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment and was unable to live alone. I spoke to Tim at Right at Home West Los Angeles and he was able to help our family find a full time care giver, Makeda, who was wonderful . It was not easy for mom to go from living with her sweetheart of 60 years to having to rely on in home care and essentially having a stranger move into her home. I was staying with mom until we got the placement and Tim worked with us to ensure a smooth transition. When Makeda left to go back to school, Jamie took her place and was equally as wonderful. Since that time we have been able to have family stay with mom and no longer need the live-in caregiver provided by Right at Home, but still use Right at Home three days a week to help mom with bathing. It has worked out beautifully. I would highly recommend Right at Home West Los Angeles to anyone looking for in home care for their loved ones. All of the personnel have been loving and caring to mom and Tim has been very responsive when our needs change. I live on the East Coast and have peace of mind knowing that my mom is always well taken care of. Thank you, Tim and everyone at Right at Home West Los Angeles.
