Nice little rose garden. I think it would be a nicer park with more shade trees. Beware of the steep climb down...and back up. Wide concrete steps. Friendly volunteers enjoying the roses.

The Morcom Rose Garden is open EVERY DAY from Dawn until Dusk. Although I'm a bonafide volunteer at the rose garden, I have been unsuccessful in updating the hours that are posted here. Please come! Roses are in full bloom!

A really beautiful garden. Tucked away in a residential neighborhood, you would never guess it would be there. Whether you sit down to enjoy a book or an afternoon stroll, the atmosphere is great. The garden is so beautiful when the roses are in bloom. What a gem to the city.

Is it good walking for older people?

Willdonna Rich | Aug 25, 2019
DubR C | Aug 25, 2019

Yes, but it can be challenging on some trails and there are stairs and inclines/declines from the side entrances. If you want flat surfaces and no stairs or inclines/declines then stick to the main entrance and plaza area. Plenty of beauty there without climbing👍

Can you pick the flowers?

7bugmaster | Aug 25, 2019
Caleilia Avery | Aug 25, 2019

No, the people who build and maintain that garden put a lot of hours into making beautiful, and it would be quite a shame to see them all picked to nothingness.

Yes it is open, technically. There are no gates to keep it closed off. You can go really early or very late. I used to go to the stairs and workout extremely early in the morning.

How is it in winter?

Christopher Goldman | Aug 25, 2018

There are still a few roses in bloom, and the greenery and wildlife are always nice. It's California. Update: Looks like everything's being cut back for winter now. So, a bit barren-looking. But still peaceful.
