great guys once you come in and get to know them. just be patient and dont bombard them with questions right off the bat as they are often finishing paperwork with other customers. Doing research about what type of firearm you want beforehand will greatly help in your search. Yes prices are crazy but they are the only game in town and we are in the middle of a blue year/covid gun buying panic at the moment. im sure the County puts insane red tape in front of them which is why Bullseye in San Rafael ditched town. Overall very happy with my purchase and Ronald got me through paperwork quickly even though i had to renew my fcs(firearm safety cert.)

Excellent knowledge of their products and especially the crazy CA laws. Employees were helpful with my first firearm purchase. Prices are high, but reasonably so because there are no other options in the county. Had the specific ammo I had been searching for.

I went in just to get some info and take a look at what they had. The younger gentleman seemed like he was uninterested in even trying to talk to me about guns. After retrieving the keys from the back area, he shows me two guns and then goes back to the back area and never comes back out to the sales floor. Mind you, I am the only customer in the store at the time. I honestly felt like I was "waisting" the young gentlemans time. I am not an expert on guns but was trying to gain more information about pricing and brands. At least he could have returned to the sales floor and helped me out just a little more. Later on that day I went to Big 5 and actually got a lot more information and wasn't treated like I didnt belong in the store. Sad part was, even though I told the young gentlemen that I was just window shopping, I actually had cash on hand and in fact would have purchased a firearm on the spot. I honestly felt like I shouldn't have been there or I was doing something wrong by just inquiring about firearms. The older gentlemen was more friendly but wouldnt even put his paper work down as he talked to me.

The feeling I got from this place was that they didn't feel like making a sale. I was the only one in this place and no one out of three could even bother to get up out of their chair to talk. During our conversation all of them couldn't have came off more arrogant and off putting. Definitely will never buy from their and will go out of my way to tell people not to shop here. I bought my gun today from triple a sporting goods is awesome, definitely recommend buying from them if you can.

Questions & Answers

Hello, can you recommend a good firearms safety class/course for my 19 yr. old daughter. Also, are there any indoor public ranges around anymore? I haven't been in ages (since Bullseye in San Rafael). Thank you in advance -Mark

Petaluma gun range.

Hi I'm a first time client and was wondering what do I Need to do

Mike DeCook | Aug 24, 2021
Marin Firearms | Aug 24, 2021

Mike, thanks for your question. I'm assuming you've not purchased a firearm in the past? You will need to take a Firearm Safety Test (30 questions) and after choosing a firearm to purchase you will need to provide a valid CA ID and a proof of residence in your name with an address that matches your ID. Examples would be utility bills or a car registration. Cell phone bills do not qualify. At that time, the paperwork is submitted electronically to the state and your 10-day wait begins. That's the basic workflow. The staff at Marin will be able to help you with any other details you might need to know. Thanks so much! Laura
