Vertex is a great rock gym, and for many years the only game in town for indoor climbing in Sonoma county, even all of the north bay. The route setting is good, but pretty heavily sand bagged. (Meaning the routes are graded as being much easier than they actually are) This, in combination with the fact that I wish they had additional crash pads in the bouldering area, are why I give four instead of five stars. I took a date here once who broke her foot on a boulder, which isn't the gym's fault but I do personally feel the padding could be better.

What a great place to go climbing! Very friendly and helpful staff. As soon as you walk in, you're hit with a wonderful energy that encompasses the whole place. I brought my friends child for his first time, and he also loved it! They have harness free climbing as well. And the price wasn't bad at all for an all-day pass. They also provide shoe and harness rentals. I strongly recommend this business!

•Loveable staff and friendly community. •Creative and challenging wall puzzles that push you towards your best. • Affordable membership at $65 a month including free classes from Yoga, Climbing, Crossfit, and a upstairs workout area. •Clean facility aside from chalk, but hey that's climbing. I really do love this place, and highly recommend Vertex to the curious and adventurous!

Day passes are $18 for youth and $20 for adults(18+) and allow you to climb all day. rental gear is available as well. Harnesses are $3 and if desired(but not required if tennis shoes are worn) is $5. Our 2 hour Climbtime classes with a belay staff member are $35 per person and allow new and solo climbers to climb all the roped walls. This class includes the harness. We have gift cards available on our website or in physical form at our front desk.

Admittedly, Vertex's website is not laid out very well. $16 for youth free climbing. If they need shoes for bouldering, then add $5. If they are going to do roped climbing then it's $8 for shoes & harness. Most info can be found at their website - climbvertex.com
Vertex does offer a good selection of stock items for sale. Unlike some of your big name stores, the staff are adequately trained in this field and their product knowledge is very helpful.
