Fascinating small museum which allows you to explore an old grain mill, several historic buildings, displays regarding Swedish immigration and the cultivation of wheat in the area.

It’s a good size museum for a small town. I highly recommend for motorcycle lovers.

Very interesting self guided tour, beautifully preserved historical mill interior, fascinatingly complex production process. Great little gift and reproduction Victorian postcard selection. More historical attractions across the street, including the huge Swedish pavilion from the 1904 World's Fair, moved to, and reassembled at, this location. Definitely recommend.

Great museum about a flour mill set up by settlers in the 1800's. It is far more interesting than that sentence sounded. It tells not only about this mill but about the heritage of the settlers of central Kansas. It is very affordable and is constantly expanding. I highly recommend it.

Hi Lisa, this is a great question! The rock, which is part of a broken Dakota sandstone boulder, was found Northwest of Lindsborg in 1980 when it was displaced by construction workers who were laying a fuel pipeline through the area. It appeared to have petroglyphs carved on it. Since it was already displaced by the construction, it was brought here to the museum. The Kansas State Historical Society examined it but could not determine exactly what the petroglyph carvings were, since the rock was already very old and weathered. It is my understanding that there were several incidents of vandalism, so the rock was enclosed in the fence to secure it from further issues. I hope this helps. Thank you for your question!
