Autumn was having so much fun here. Itβs a great place to be. Iβm glad I spent some time here during my last day in the Bay Area. Must visit.

Love making the loved trail around the water. Fresh air and exercise π I have started to go there everyday.

A nice, easy walk to enjoy with the family. I recommend going early in the day because there isn't any shade.

Open every day, gates in Alviso may be closed but parking is available.
I go visit mostly for the breezy view of the bay, and for watching sunsets. I see lots of birds, large and small, occasionally an egret or two.
When i went last the gate was open but not sure if big groups are allowed better call city to find out best info
You can depart from the Alviso marina, and kayak down the slough. But you cannot depart from Refuge property.
It closes at sunset. You cannot enter after that. The gate is locked. But, you can always drive out
You can park outside the gate and walk on anytime.
Yes, most of the trails allow dogs. I hike and walk with my dog there all the time. The only concern would be the squirrels your dog might want to chase. There are also some trails that go into the marshes that don't allow dogs because they have protected wildlife.
That depends on where you walk. There's a nice short 30-45 minute walk, but you can go as much as 6 miles around the slough (my best guess). What you should do is go online, or go to the visitor center and pick up a map.Walks just before sunset are great. The preserve closes at 7:00 p.m., which should coincide fairly closely to sunset now. It is usually cooler at the preserve, because of the wind and the proximity of the water.
Yes
Can I just point out that Richard Zapata doesn't know squaat and continues to answer questions that he doesn't know the answer to.... just move on and don't feel the need to answer everything Richard
No but you can fish
Right by the visitor center. Let Google maps lead you there.
The trails are not all paved, but they are smooth gravel or wood boardwalks and very easy to walk on.
