Very clean and well organized. It has plenty of first come first serve campsites, so no worries about the reservations. Tips for this place is to find a secured site in which you could avoid the wind as much as you can. This area is pretty windy compared to other campgrounds.

This is a campground my crew goes back too. Here are some quick pros. 1. Top of the mountain. So close to the waterfall trails. 2. Wildlife travel through the campground. We had so many deer visitors come say hello. 3. G190 is the best campsite, so secluded and a lot of room and close to the bathrooms. Just needs the grill replaced. 4. Camp store has all the essentials along with showers/laundry. It rains a lot so putting some clothes to dry was a godsend. 5. Doyleβs Run and Jones Run offer a nice few little watering hole spots to cool down on your trail. They can be a bit of a workout getting back up. Thank you to the all Park Rangers. Preserving our beautiful nation is a huge honor. πΊπΈ

The southernmost campground in SNP, I've stayed here half a dozen times or more and haven't had a bad experience yet...large, secluded , spacious sites (some reservable), easy access to the AT, a well-stocked campstore, etc. I come here every August for the Perseids, they have an amphitheater that is a perfect observing spot, and very dark skies considering the park is only 75 miles from DC. Note to RV users: there are NO water/sewage/electric hookups, and many sites prohibit the use of generators (not that I consider that a bad thing...)

Great campground, LOTS of campsites, easy access to bear boxes, the camp store, bathrooms, dumpsters and utility sinks. Enough room for any camping party size you could bring along, lots of space for RVs and room to bike around the ground as well. The amphitheater has a breathtaking view!

Waterfalls. Some folks were going under the falls but not deep enough to swim. Doyle's River Falls.
There is a change machine. Shower itself needs quaters not bills. I get quarters in rolls from my bank before the trip.
There is splotchy service for both t-mobile and verizon down by the store. But that's it. , I'm not sure about others.
It's open! I was just there last week. Some spots are still closed to minimize occupancy of the park. G loop is reserve only. Otherwise its first come first serve.
They're open at reduced hours. Also another heads up, they cost $1.75 so bring quarters and small bills.
I believe the park is still only open for day use.
It wasn't as of last Wednesday, May 27th as an FYI.
I believe it was $7 a bundle. You are allowed to collect your own firewood, provided it is already a down tree. I hope this helps.
I believe noon
I'm pretty sure! Make sure you go early that morning to the ranger station, because walk up sites go quickly and many people also want a site as well. So long as there are some free, it should be no problem!
You will have no problem, enjoy the trip. Be sure to follow main roads, some Some GPS's route people up fire roads.
They have toilet paper though. Most campgrounds do. Loft probably has the nicest showers and bathrooms I've been in. If you go during a busy season and not going to the main bathroom area it's always good to carry some just in case.
It's first come first serve. There are a bunch of really good sites.

Hiking and fishing is about it. There's not much infrastructure around there. Maybe you can find a playground within a few miles, but it's pretty wild. There are wide fields down the road, we usually bring a volleyball net and a soccer ball to play with groups.
That sucks! No Generater,do any camps cites have electric, like Big Meadows ect.
Most sites can fit two standard size tents comfortably with max of six people
We take our pop-up camper for me and the wife and our boys have set up 2 tents and never had an issue been going for years
When I camped there October of 16, I only saw hookups for the camp hosts. It's dry camping otherwise.
Wayside is open, no the restaurant is currently closed and nope no gas stations near, first gas station is 1hr away.
