Hiking and fishing is about it. There's not much infrastructure around there. Maybe you can find a playground within a few miles, but it's pretty wild. There are wide fields down the road, we usually bring a volleyball net and a soccer ball to play with groups.
Nature is all they need
Don't forget about making smores and telling stories around the campfire!
Junior Ranger talks and program for kids, pay by the hour trail rides, Luray Caverns is just a bit off the mountain roughly 30 min. Also Bear Fence is a nice rock scramble trail and if you drive around to do White Oak from bottom up it's an easy waterfall slide hike.
In addition to the hiking, there is an amphitheater nearby where rangers will give talks about wildlife, etc. Not sure how often they are scheduled though.
Hiking and viewing wildlife. I have never seen fishing up in the park but only in streams outside the park boundaries.
