It's open! I was just there last week. Some spots are still closed to minimize occupancy of the park. G loop is reserve only. Otherwise its first come first serve.
You can also make reservations for a few spots through recreation.gov We stayed at G186 a week and a half ago. Decent spot. Close to a bathroom, space to set up a tent either up front in your loop or a little further back in the woods by your fire ring.
As of this weekend all space are open. G and G loops are reservable. I like loft mountain better than big meadow's because the lots are more secluded. Pull up the diagram and you can see how they are laided out
