This place ROCKS! Mix of bouldering, belay climbing, and traditional gym weight/cardio equipment. Amenities are well kept and staff are friendly. Highly recommend for all ages on one-off or regular membership basis.

Great place for bouldering. Lots of different problems to solve. Got the introductory class abs was super helpful. Pro tip: they open at 6 am and it is very quit until 2 pm. The place is practically to yourself.

I love Movement. I joined after taking awesome private lessons with Jason. I find the staff to be existentially friendly. They all are open, inclusive and encouraging. I find the top rope routes inventive. The boulders are refreshed on a robust cycle. The bathrooms are nice. I’d suggest a new cable machine in the weight room and squat sled. Other than those two items, the gym is perfect. Awesome place to meet nice people. Joining Movement has improved my life!

Disappointing! Movement San Francisco has moved into the direction of providing inadequate training for their staff and management seems to turn a blind eye to dismissive behaviors. The climbing also has greatly lowered in quality and value since December it seems. Boulders are mostly throw seats and inaccessible if your not the same height as the setters, ropes have become a second thought with climbs feeling 3 grades harder due to how greasy and glassy the holds are getting. Please bring back more emphatic setters, that are kind and not dismissive. I think they introduced themselves as the director of setting for the gym, Micah, and ignored my comments on a few of the climbs and routes. The bro mentality that the setting crew embodies is the reason I left other gyms in the area and now is the reason I’m leaving movement. There is no consideration for the members opinions and no thoughtfulness at this facility. The dismissive and rude attitude is also met on the desk whenever you feel like your interrupting the supervisors from a conversation to buy a drink or ask for a lead rope. Save your money and climb on the weekend with a day pass but don’t get a membership. Gym has gone down hill with the new leadership this past few months. Sad, and shameful. Please enlighten us on why member comments have gone answered and bad behavior from your staff has gone unchecked. The welcoming desk attitude is no longer present in the evenings.
