Really great local book shop. Tons and tons of options across all kinds of subjects. There is no AC, which is typical in SF, so in the warmer months it can be a little uncomfortable. But it’s worth checking out! The staff is nice and helpful too!

My absolute favorite bookstore in all of San Francisco. Every time I walk in I’m overcome with a sense of home and comfort. There selection of books is insane and they have so many categories to peruse through. You could spend days looking around through their collection. I always find a new book to buy or to put on my wish list. Such a special place my friends and I have had so many good memories here; strange to say for a bookstore but something about green apple is so sentimental.

Green Apple has been in the neighborhood for as long as I can remember. They have an amazing selection of new and used books under hundreds of categories. I can spend all day here. They also have a unique selection of gifts!

We’re still here at 506 Clement. We did close our annex last fall but everything people love is back in the main store two doors down. Happy new year.

We don't, alas. But we do strip the covers of old issues to get credit for them as unsold, then recycle the contents. As long as the project isn't a for-profit thing, you could probably talk us into saving some for you if you can wait for our next stripping session. I would be very wary about what you would take to them.they might lead you to believe that they would have interest in your books,just to have you leave highly dissapointed.if there's another bookstore you could go to(dog eared books,aarvark) I would check them out first.
