Wonderful experience at Habana today. I met my friend who designed the space there for lunch. I had the salad with plantains and pineapple and he had the salmon with rice. I’ve been trying to cut back on calories or I would have ordered the salmon. He gave me a bite and it was delicious - next time! Very cool vibe and very busy. I will definitely be back.

My friends took me here and what a treat! The outside atmosphere, the service and the food all a great experience. For friends or a date. Parking may be a bit rough on the weekends but recommend you drive all the way to the back of the lot as there is more more and closer parking to the restaurant.

Went here for an early NYE dinner and it was so fun. Our server was amazing and so nice and lively. The drinks were delicious but pretty sweet. We got the appetizer sampler (taste of habana) which was amazing. While they have “outdoor” seating, you can tell it’s pretty much enclosed. It does get chilly in there but they had really good space heaters. Would definitely come back here again!

Habana is a nice little date/drinking spot and the dishes we ate were delicious! From the chicken empanada to the skirt steak and paella.. YUM! The waitress mentioned that the skirt steak could be a little tough but mine was tender and juicy. My boyfriend ordered the paella and my fork kept reaching for his plate because the rice was so flavorful. Give this place a try when you’re in the area! Reservations recommended.

I was just there yesterday and asked the same thing. They have not brought the all-you-can-eat weekend brunch buffet back yet.
No, buffet only. Drinks are extra but they have a delicious passion fruit juice. We bought a champagne & grabbed some of that juice. 😎
I think it depends on what age you are talking about when you say kid and what you mean when you say kid friendly. It would not be my first choice as a place to bring young children.
They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. I went on a Friday evening and it felt very spaced out and accommodating.
It does get busy, but not so that its uncomfortable. No, its not a buffet style. If the person(s) like Cuban food, I don't think age matters :)

There are now two locations. Costa Mesa is the original one located at The Lab across from The Camp. The new one is at the Irvine Spectrum.
I went to a buffet on a Sunday at Habana Restaurant in Costa Mesa, for my birthday. . It only offers Sunday brunch buffet. My son made reservations. People are stating no, Habana does not offer a buffet but I was eating a wonderful buffet just last Sunday!
They don't. It's very americanized menu. The kobe beef hamburger Thursdays is most popular item.
During this time of year, go with the patio (for brunch)
There is no formal limit but they probably won't be happy if you seriously overstay the normal time.
