One of the best organizations not just in Kansas City but in the United States

I'm sure overall they are a great organization but in Kansas City they have many blood drives and a large proportion of the areas blood donations but yet provide little of that blood to local hospitals. Blood collected by the local Community blood center however stays local. The Kansas City Red Cross even schedules blood drives after CBC does for the same towns/areas but make them so they occur just before the CBC blood drives so they take the donors the CBC would get.

Most people don't realize that the great majority of the people providing help through the Red Cross are volunteers. They are highly trained, dedicated and the most caring people you will ever meet. They are highly accountable and conscientious with donated dollars and go the extra mile to find all sources of help. I'm proud to say I retired from there as an employee after 23 years and remained a volunteer for years after.

If you have the red cross blood donors app you can see the results posted there. If not then you can call the number on your post donation care pamphlet and they will be able to help you get your results. I hope this helps!
The red cross only deals in new items. You can check with the salvation army.
Hi Austin, some Chapters do allow Community Service Hours, however, given the critical nature of the Red Cross, we invest a great deal into our 400,000+ volunteers and are most interested in recruiting those who wish to do humanitarian work for the long haul! If you're interested in a long term volunteer position with the Red Cross, please contact your local chapter ;)
Probably not. ARC only helps if primary dwellings are lost and the person does not have two pairs of clothing left. Please call 211 for the United Way hotline. They can better tell you who might be funded to help with this. Good luck.
I very much doubt there are any agencies that can provide heating tonight. However, there might be some who could provide lodging or transportation or shelter. Call 211, the United Way hotline for other suggestions. The American Red Cross is funded for disaster caused needs only. Good luck.
I'm retired from Red Cross now but I remember there is always a backlog after a smoke alarm presentation. You might put a note on the Facebook page for your area or look up the number and call at RedCross.org.
Call ARC, Monday through Friday, 9AM to 4PM. Speak with Mr. Will Sisson, especially if you're a vet. Call 816- 841-5230. Try AARP if you're interested in job training for mature adults, or EOC on 17th Paseo.
Call they have caseworker and lists of resources
American Red Cross can provide you emergency assistance after a fire
