Why go to Disneyland and waste $200+ when you can spend a third of that and help animals in need? What a fun and unique thing to do. The animals were looking so well taken care of. Shout out all to all the volunteers who made the animals live in peace. But I think that more families should come visit and help support this wonderful cause.

Really enjoyed visiting all the animals you'd find in a barn at this local Santa Clarita sanctuary. Loved letting, hugging, feeding and brushing all the residents and hearing how they came to be saved. Please support with a visit but be sure to schedule a reservation well ahead of your visit.

The best experience. Learning all the animals stories and how they survive and thrive with all the love and care the get daily. Also the cleanest barnyard I have ever seen.

Let me tell you, we LOVED this place. My kids and I went here on a Sunday afternoon. I we parked on the side of the road but they had plenty of parking. They even had little go carts to take you from your car to the barn. All the volunteers and workers were so sweet and very knowledgeable. It was so cool that all the animals had their own names and stories. I’m so glad that they were rescued and have such a pleasant home now. We were able to pet EVERYTHING!! That was so awesome to my 2 year old especially. It was such a nice and relaxed atmosphere too. This place is really legit. Such a great place to go with the fam or with some friends. They’re were people of all ages there enjoying themselves. That was really cool to see. Definitely going again. Love this place.

Hi Lucy, what questions do you have?
Yes we are! We have handicapped parking in the parking lot. The lower barnyard is fully accessible via wheelchair. We can transport you (via golf cart) to the upper barn yard with your wheelchair so you can go in and see that area.
Yes we are open to the public every Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., including holidays!
Volunteers help with the care of animals and keep our Sundays running smoothly!
Our loving volunteers come rain or shine. We couldn't do it without them!
Yes we do! Please join us on a Sunday from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. to complete a volunteer application.
We ask a donation of for $20.00 adults and $10.00 children. The Gentle Barn is a non-profit organization and no one will ever be turned away for an inability to donate.
Our volunteer program is only for ages 14 and over but you are more than welcome to come visit us on Sunday when we are open!
Open Sundays only, 10 am to 2 pm.
Yes! Please wear a costume, paint a pumpkin and enjoy the festivities. Join us Sunday, October 28 for a Halloween party.
We visited for a few hours. You could both easily stay all day or stop in for a quick trip. It really just depends on how many cows you want to hug!
They have porta-potties on-site with wash stations as well.
From their website: Ellie Laks founded The Gentle Barn in 1999; it was a dream of hers since she was seven years old. Animals were always very healing and nurturing to her as she faced the challenges of growing up, finding herself, fitting in, feeling understood, etc. She majored in special education and psychology, and with her special love of animals and children, The Gentle Barn was a perfect way of putting all her talents and passions into one. I visited on one of the public days and she said that when she was a child she'd bring home injured animals so saving animals was instilled in her from a very young age.
They are open to the public Sundays 10-2. I think other days are for private tours
Contact your local vet they might be able to point you in the right direction even with a free service
Yes, The Gentle Barn is open every Sunday from 10am to 2pm.
Yes, the Gentle Barn is fine. The fires are farther North and South. Both sets are many miles away
It depends: 1) do you have space to walk, exercise? 2) Is the place where they are clean? 3) Do they have a place to relieve themselves and someone to clean them? 4) are they well fed and with clean water? -If the conditions are not beneficial for the animals, it is advisable to find them a home with people who can take care of them- and preferably, that they sleep indoors and not outside (where there are spiders, snakes, and other animals that can cause serious damage)
You can go online and donate $20 dollars a person and print your tickets
Dogs are allowed but can't go inside encloures. Saw a sign yesterday 👍 Also GPS tries taking u down a small dirt road the wrong way.
We are open if there is a just a light sprinkle. If there is a downpour we will be closed.
Yes! Absolutely 💯 They are visited every Sunday by people and love the attention and the petting.
We are currently at capacity and cannot rescue any more animals. Please feel free to email: info@gentlebarn for some referrals. Thank you!
We would love to be able to help, but unfortunately we are at capacity and currently not in a position to assist, or rescue at this time. However, our suggestion would be to contact all rescues and sanctuaries, starting with those located locally first, and implore them for help. That seems to be what you are trying to do so that is great.
The Gentle Barn is open to the public on Sundays from 10-2.
The latest update is that the evacuation order has been lifted and some of the animals have returned home. The rest should be coming home next week. If you would like to help with a donation, you can find then on Venmo.
Please give us a call at (661) 252-2440 and we can assist you.
There is no fee, we ask a donation of $20.00 for adults and $10.00 for children
