The Santa Monica Pier is a family friendly Beach location. It's very clean and spacious. There are lots of vendors to choose from. The rides are a bit pricey but due to the convenience and the location it's worth it. The restaurants close around 6:00 p.m. but the park stays open till 10 00. $15 to park. It's well worth it. We had lots of fun.

Excellent place to go and have a fun time. Entrance is completely free but you have to pay for each ride or buy a wrist band to get on every ride. It has an amazing view of the Pacific and you can see the park from far while on the pier.
GT Bird
An excellent place to hang out for the day. Get some sun, ocean breeze, play in the sand/Pacific Ocean, ride a coaster, farris wheel, bumper cars, or other rides, or have some fun trying to win some stuffed animals. Catch a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants or snack locations on and around the pier.

I'm over the top in love and excited to be able to enjoy this monumental place! Was absolutely the best part to my mini California vacation. A bit expensive but what part of California for an Indiana girl isn't. Totally worth the trip either way! I've now seen the beginning of route 66 (Chicago) and the end. Now to see all that's in-between.

Hi Marilyn - Colt's suggestion below is correct. You can enter 200 Santa Monica Pier, Santa Monica, CA 90401 into your GPS and go straight onto the Pier deck to be dropped off. There is an area at the bottom of the ramp where vans can turn around and drop you off without being in the way. There is also wheel-chair accessible parking spots in the upper pier parking lot. When this lot become full, the police will close the ramp. If the pier ramp is closed when you arrive, reroute to 1550 Appian Way - this is the large surface lot to the north of the Pier. The wheel chair access ramps are located at the back of the Pier across from Big Deans, so have the driver stop in the loading area just before the parking booths in front of the aquarium. The ramp is to the left of the aquarium. There is more information on our website, https://www.pacpark.com/guide-for-guests-with-disabilities/
