A very easy trail, nice to navigate, great to take your dog on! My SO and I both have knee issues but managed this hike absolutely fine.

Great, easy hike with some moderate inclines. Path well marked.

Love this interactive trail. Each of the 16 points tell some interesting facts about wildlife. If they do not have the brochures by the entrance you can download the PDF copy online. Only partially shady, but luckily even in late June this area doesn't get too hot. It is an easy hike. Parking requires a visible day permit that is also valid in many other areas. Not sure if you need one when parking on the road.

Nice little trail for the young kids, short and shaded 90% of the trail. No steep drop offs so I felt comfortable letting my adventurous 2 year old walk until he got tired.

Questions & Answers

Is there anywhere to have a picnic?

Trenton Benishek | Aug 23, 2020
Michael Farris | Aug 23, 2020

Trenton, Melanie's answer is right on the mark. There is a place just down the street however, across the highway that has a picnic area right on the lake. When you exit the parking lot of Woodland Trail Loop, go left on the highway and it will be on your right hand side probably less than a mile away.
