If you wanna clean restroom it’s a great place to go. If you want information about big Bear go to big Bear Discovery center because they have information about the road conditions. I asked two different employees that work there. Either of them could help me figure out where I could go camp and what the condition of the roads were like. The other three employees just stood around.

Awesome place to get info in town. The moment we walked in a woman was offering to be of assistance. Two ladies were giving information over the phone at the front desk and a man assisted us while we were looking at the pamphlets. Very helpful since some of the things we were planning were not available that day like the trolley and the Museum.

There's snow in the mountains, but not much on the ground. As of right now, chains aren't required.
It's usually only a couple of lifts/runs open at the beginning of the season so go to their website under "mountain report" to see if it runs/lifts you like to go on/ability level.
The lakes surface area is 2,971 Acers.
