The parking is a nightmare. They reserve the whole parking lot for the restaurant despite the need of parking for the families, that taking kids to the park. The personal on duty is rude to the point of abuse. Otherwise the park is nice.

Marina Park Community Center in Newport Beach is a lovely community center and park that is right on the beach. The community center is beautifully designed with a green lighthouse. The lighthouse also has a cafe (The Lighthouse Cafe) that you can enjoy great views of the Newport Beach Bay from the second floor of the Lighthouse. The park has equipment for children to play on as well.

The Marina Park Community and Sailing Center is perfect for anyone wanting to hangout near the beach. It's located on bayside of the Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach. It has a large park with picnic area, beach themed playground, a beach area, restroom facilities, outdoor fitness circuit, and basketball courts. The Lighthouse Café serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and brunch. They also have a Happy Hour for those wanting to relax with a drink while taking in the views of Newport Bay.

I am looking for a parking place on land for 4-5 days (tomorrow through Monday) for my 17 foot Whaler and trailer. Any ideas? Thanks

You might try down the street about a mile (? almost an hour walk) over by Balboa Pier on the right. Make a right when you see the turn for the Ferry, sign. Not sure for multiple days of unattached trailers, but that's the only place I know of where there's enough room for a truck and trailer (pay) but you should be able to park wherever you plan to drop your boat and drive back to the peninsula. (make sure you go to Balboa Pier and not Newport Pier) Depending on time of day, parking in the peninsula can be tough, tough enough that some locals run electric carts if they have a 3 car garage. If you try parking by the Jack in the Box or at the rec center you might get towed if you don't have permission. Whomever is running your boat ramp should know, there's only one public ramp in the area...and there's pay parking ($$) right there, the Newport Back Bay, off of PCH and Jamboree, on the other side of the bay... you can take the ferry back if it's running, or just drive back on PCH.

Curious about your parking. We have event at American Legion in August. Can anyone park there? Are there meters? Does lot close at a certain time?

There is metered parking from 8:00AM - 6:00PM in front and around the 'Legion'. After 6:00PM is free. And there's also free parking on Bay Street ( adjacent to American Legion).
