Monadnock State Park Headquarters and Trailhead

Great place for a day hike, or to have a picnic. The park is reservations only, so you will need to register your party. There is plenty of restroom facilities and picnic tables. If you are waiting on a party to climb the mountain, bring a chair or book, and you have a beautiful area to camp. The lower lot (first lot) is paved, the upper lot (second lot) is gravel. The second lot might be quieter and doesn't fill up as fast, though people might not park as far in as they could, making getting out a tight squeeze. There's a small camp store on site with drinks, energy bars, and souvenirs.

Very nice park for hiking. We use the Old Toll Road entrance off Rt. 124 (coming from the east you have to drive pass the main entrance). We like hiking Cliff Walk. Start on the access road. Half way up is Parker Trail. Take that to Cliff Walk. Follow cliff walk to bald rock. Then cut back to white arrow. About 2.5 hours going up. There are two tiolets are this entrance.

Challenging hike on a beautiful day. Wear a wicking shirt and dress in layers. Be sure to wear to wear good shoes.

Park was clean and bathrooms were nice. Great hike but definitely not beginner. Parts of it are literally climbing the face of a rock. I'm afraid of heights so we didn't make it all the way up but stopped just short of the summit.
