A nice staple hike for a lot of locals. It's great for beginners and more advanced folks alike. Sort of a choose your own adventure with lots of different trails. You could meander around the interwoven trails towards the front with little elevation change, or head towards the back of the park where there's a variety of elevation change and boulders. Making it to the top of the mound is definitely a rewarding challenge that can be accomplished relatively quickly. All around super solid spot, and great for mountain bikers too!

Tons of trails in the Sandia foothills. You can some if the trails to some awesome rocks which are great for bouldering and exploring. I've hiked and run here a few times and still have heaps to explore. The only downside is limited parking but you can park along one side of the main street and start your hike a bit earlier.

It is free, but go early, not many parking spaces. Dress real warm in layers. With dusk, the temp drops quickly. If it's really sunny, there will sometimes be snakes. If you don't hike in ABQ or deserts often take plot ghb hh 2 2wwwwwwwwwwe
