I ordered something perishable using USPS Priority Express (their equivalent of FedEx). It did not arrive in time, so I filed a claim. I should mention that the delivery person does not have your phone number like they do with Fed Ex or UPS, so if they have trouble with your address (which they may even if the address was written correctly), they will just not deliver the package. The USPS response to the claim was that I should present the item to "a post office" for inspection. I presented it in Palo Alto and was told that I had to present it to this post office since that is the one that was responsible for the item. Ok, but maybe be more detail oriented with your instructions. At the Mountain View post office, I was told that they could not help me because a supervisor had to be present to inspect the package (also NOT stated in the letter). They also told me that as the recipient I could not be the one to file the request for reimbursement even though that clearly contradicts the USPS website, and the letter regarding the claim made it clear they understood I was the recipient . At this point I had spent most of the afternoon in 2 post offices. There was NO empathy. And the worst part was they took the package to put on the supervisor's desk and I never heard from them again. DO NOT USE USPS PRIORITY EXPRESS. IF YOU CAN'T AFFORD A FEW EXTRA BUCKS FOR FED EX OR UPS, EXPECT THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE YOUR PACKAGE WILL LIKELY BE LOST. IF THAT HAPPENS, PLEASE DO NOT BOTHER FILING A CLAIM; IT IS A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME.

The supervisor or post master (the guy claimed to be both) refused to give me information on restricted items in the mail. He claimed the restricted were prohibited. When asked when that changed, he couldn't tell me. Refused to show me anything in writing. I had to call the USPS customer support to get information about sending tobacco cigarettes to a senior citizen in the Midwest with dementia and mobility issues. I tried to explain this and he kept saying to go somewhere else and try it there. Person also refused to give his name.

Unprofessional and extremely rude people. unfortunately this is the only usps in mtv. They speak to you in a inpatient and irresponsible way. Ew, should definitely replace those rude stuffs with a talking machine which is at least polite. How did they get this job? Is it so easy to get a job?

They lost my employment authorization document and made absolutely no effort finding it. Without investigating the case, the lady handling my service request blamed me for having the package stolen, when the apartment building has multiple other packages that actually have values lying in the doorway for days without being tampered whatsoever. I’d never choose USPS on my own accord, but since the package is sent by USCIS I have no other choice but to apply again and hope that they deliver the second time around. How is this not a monopoly I have no idea. I was all for save USPS when the initiative was out at the start of the pandemic, but now I have no idea how they haven’t gone broke yet with this kind of service and complete lack of sense of responsibility.

I think so. But you may need to call them up to ask.
The passport service is appointment based. Other services don't need an appointment.
No
The post office is open Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 5, and Saturday morning.
Go to http://usps.com Then click on International - you will see Use our online scheduler to make a passport appointment Click on Schedule Today -- this should guide you in choosing the Service type , location, Time, etc Note when you choose a post office location , some locations are more busy. So be flexible on the location. Also make sure that post office is open. Meaning not located in a mall that might be closed.
If you get a notice left on your door, it means you have something to signed for and they missed you. You can pick up at the blue door the next day. Otherwise, no note, you gotta wait.
Yes they do, but you have to make an appointment :)
Mon-friday: 8:30-5:00pm Sat: 9:00-2:00pm Access to lobby/po boxes and kiosk available 24/7.

Yes. It should be. Package must be small enough to fit in the drop box. Also only click n ship services available - not full retail options.
9 am-2pm
No appointment is required to apply for a passport. There is a specific window to process the applications. You can go to the post office (any post office) and get the application. They have Spanish versions. The application will tell you everything you need to bring in, together, along with the filled in application. Birth certificate, Social Security Card, Passport photo (they can take the photo right there) and a state issued I.D. (card, or Drivers License). It's fairly painless. One note: If you have had Passport before, make sure you get the [RENEW] application. They process much faster 1-2 weeks. The initial passport will require 2-4 weeks. Hope this was helpful.

I agree with Thomas. The Post Office does not charge for Cgz
You can come in and do it at the counter or you can renew online. Typically, your postal clerk will leave an envelope with the amount and date due noted on it in your box which also gives you the option of mailing in a check.
Usually someone can help you. There is usually someone there who can help you.
You do this through the DMV, not the post office.
They do photo service M-F 8AM-3PM closed for lunch and you need to make an appointment. https://tools.usps.com/go/POLocatorDetailsAction!input?zip5=94041&radius=20&zip4=9998&locationID=1440608&tollFree=800-ASK-USPS%26reg%3B%26nbsp%3B&locationName=MOUNTAIN+VIEW&locationType=po
You can fill out a form in the office and submit to the window clerk or go through USPS website
