95% of the time very polite, yes everyone has off days. Coming from working in the public sector and at a similar site I can say 100% that I am glad they only take trash and such from the local county since it is OUR tax dollars from us property tax payers in Kootenai county and LIVE here that can use the facility. I am also proud that they close the inbound gate 5 minutes (should be 10) before closing everyday. Those who work serving the public should be allowed to have a life outside of work be allowed to go home ON TIME. Its not all about $$ or sacrificing their time for some ungrateful J...A.. who has poor planning, just moved here or lives outside of the county let alone the state. IF you are looking for a place that you treat those the who dispose of your trash and treat them like trash, you are always welcome to go to a facility in Washington :). I give you my word, no one here will loose sleep over you taking you trash else where. If you try treating the worker like a decent person who just had a bad run in with someone who was an ungrateful A..h..., you may change their attitude and be very helpful and go out of their way and go the extra mile for you cause you were courteous. Not that you or I am perfect. A big Thank You to those who deal with my trash and my neighbors trash, you do not get thanked enough!

Don't come here if you're not a resident, you'll be 100% refused. You can't pay an additional fee or anything. I travel the country and this is my first time ever being refused at a dump regardless of where my ID is from. Edit: Should probably list that on your website that it's only for residents of the county as that's a very bizarre ordinance. I'm on the border of Kootenai county on the WA side about 25 miles south and conduct my business within CDA because it's closer to me than Spokane. I had to go 50 miles round trip out of my way to dump in Spokane Valley, then back to CDA to pick up my orders waiting for me at Home Depot.

I’ve been to many dump sites and this one is one of my favorites because it is clean and the employees are pleasant and helpful and if you are a newbie, just ask because they are very instructful too.
John Sinclair
From the outside looking in the Kootenai County Transfer Stations seem to be an anomaly to the rule that government can't do anything right. The place is as clean as a dump can be, they move traffic along quickly, encourage recycling, and are affordable. I've never seen a better run dump.

HHW collection days for the Ramsey Transfer Station are Wednesday and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Yes, we take residential freezers at no charge, we just ask that there isn't any food left in it. Commercial freezers are accepted (for a fee), but they must be decommissioned first.
What are you bringing in? If you are a resident of Kootenai County you typically are allowed to bring in 2,000 lbs of waste without charge. There are some exceptions, like roofing material and tires on rims.
They can go in either with the metals if you want to separate them from other refuse or in the general waste.
There is an area dedicated to those types of appliances from what I remember.
Ramsey transfer station will take oil.
None as far as I know
Utility bill, mortgage or rental agreement, basically anything official with your name and the address of the property on it.
Pretty sure you can, they will disapprove, charge you, and or require proof of residency. However, pretty sure they just don't want you bringing refuse from Washington into Idaho.
Unfortunately they don't allow salvage. However keep an eye on Facebook marketplace or craigslist and chances are you'll find some.
Yes we do. You can bring them to the Ramsey transfer station. If it is coming from your home you can bring up to 2,000 lbs. in for free.

If the paint cans are empty or the paint is completely dried up and solid, then it can be disposed of any day in the general waste.
As long as they are completely empty they can be placed in the trash or you can bring them to the transfer station for disposal.
You sure can, if you're a kootenai county resident

They will take them but it depends on if they are coming from your home and how many if there is a charge
