Just an overall amazing place, you feel like you’re in a different world, transported from all of California into somewhere out near the Nile River. If you start from the very end on University Drive and go all the way around the bend, it’s about 5.9 miles. They also have the center where there are a lot of nice diagrams for activities for children and even adults to look out the habitat of that ecosystem, with interactive displays. They also events on different days if you check the website. It’s a great place to be and a wonderful learning experience. The upper Newport Bay nature preserve is also home to many different species and the abundance of one of the healthiest species of artemisia californica in the region due to its seaside location.

Wonderful wetland park in oc. Took the family here for a Sunday morning walk and it's a great place to take in some views while walking along some nice nature trails. Not very crowded and lots of choices for trails. There's a even a little center with information about the preserve.
