I got help I needed and housing for my family staff was nice and area is rough but everyone outside seems to be very friendly and nice and they're just homeless and living how they have to but other than that they shelter is great it's helpful and I'm grateful for it

The program itself is excellent! The directors, and case managers are excellent. However the place is a complete pigsty most days. The bathrooms and the common areas are in need of constant attention but janitors are never anywhere to be seen. And I think the city would be able to find a better location than in the middle of the tenderloin for a family shelter it's pretty bad outside.

My experience In this shelter became the worse of all time!!..Case managers don’t support clients enough, personally I think they come to work for money and not because they genuinely love helping families get back stable. I was living in my mobile home which I lost the night I moved In, after about 3mos of being there I wished me and my children stayed In It. I got a 7 day notice for a non legitimate reason, personally a few staff members involve they personal feelings from home and It pours Into the work area. The fire alarms are still going off In the middle of the night, some clients were entering people rooms stealing and staff never looked into these incidents though the security cameras do work. I myself a victim of my room being entered and w/ a family of 7 we were put out “Supposedly because I missed case meetings, but It was co workers In cahoots. They discriminate on your family size, sexual orientation and relationships age diffence the emergency shelter located at 260 Golden Gate Ave In the heart of THE TENDERLOIN should be shut down or rehire new caseworkers!!..Some are racist!!..Excluding: 2 caseworks, Maintenace workers, night staff & the male staff! Some of the women are nasty, unsanitary & thieves!! I wouldn’t refer this shelter to anyone.

THANK YOU HAMILTON FAMILIES SHELTER! a Special Thanks to all the staff, you were very nice to me and my daughter. My case manager ( second time around) Jackie. Also to all the Families I met during my stay. I PRAY you all find housing soon! Never give up. Everything at Hamilton Family Shelter is totally do-able! I was thankful for a place to sleep at night. I think it could use more cleaning, but a lot of that was due to clients as well. That is probably the biggest complaint I have. The meals served were Healthy, not bad. The staff was nice enough. Front Desk could be a little more organized :):) All in All It was a humbling experience. To the families still there "Remember a closed mouth don't get fed" Go and voice yourself, go to all the outside meetings, and do for you and your families. Well that's it for now! Thank you All!!! Deborah
