I've been going to the NSPG for the last 12 years, and have had nothing but excellent care there. I don't think the negative reviews here at ALL reflect the overall reality of the practice. One time (and only one time) in the very first few months there we had some billing confusion because we'd switched from Blue Cross MA to Blue Cross MI (Michigan) due to a change in my wife's plan. An honest mistake really. Once corrected however, we never had any other such issues. And really, with thousands of patients and plan variations? It's bound to happen sometimes, but it's few and far between. In fact, I think since then we've had or plan change almost YEARLY, and they never got things confused once beyond the first time! My Primary Care Doctor (Dr. Dardeno) has been great from the first visit on. He's knowledgable, attentive and really takes his time during yearly checkups, closely following any changes, as well as being forthcoming about concerns or new medical information. I probably know a good deal more about medical information than the average patient (due my profession in medical graphics) and if I come in with some harder questions, or want to share new information he's been nothing but welcoming of those conversations. The Prior Authorization manager (Fran) genuinely CARES when your insurance refuses to cover a medication, and she is like a bulldog who won't let go until they agree to pay for your medication! That takes many consecutive days of calling on her part, and a level of perseverance that is entirely beyond her job requirements, I am certain. You certainly want someone like this in your corner! If I had any complaints at all, it would be that I don't think the general staff there are very well taken care of by the upper management. While all the patient services and equipment have been kept up to date, the office workers and front desk managers sit in old, sub-standard task chairs. These are the "customer facing" staff, and I cannot imagine that they can do their job at 100% if they go home each day with back pain and sore legs. As far as how I've been treated though, I am happy to have such good medical care available to myself and my family.

My primary care Dr. was here. Over the time I was a patient here, I experienced repeated "billing errors" 1 appointment my Dr. wasn't available and I saw a NP. The office billed it as a Specialist visit until I caught it. Every time I go for my physical, the office policy is to give patients an unnecessary EKG so they can bill you for that. Under MA's health law and Obamacare, Routine Physicals are supposed to be no-copay. Well, that's not good enough for NSMC, so they pad the bills with unnecessary extras. This being a part of the Partners Network explains it. The biggest ripoff SOB's in the field. I'd avoid this facility at all costs. Add that to the fact that he's affiliated with the Salem Hospital dump is more than enough reason
