Awesome abandoned quarry to explore. Steep in some areas. Lots to see in the area. A bunch of abandoned equipment and vehicles. Very informative.

Great hiking area, as it's very calm and relaxing. The Historic Quarry and Forest is open year round, dawn to dusk, and admission is free to the public. During the time between Memorial Day and Labor Day, they will collect a parking fee of $10 per car per day. The Quarry is open from dawn to dusk. However, during the time they are collecting parking fees, no cars are permitted in the lot after 7 PM. The quarry, which was known during its operating days as the Chester-Hudson Quarry, played a vital role in the early development of the Town of Becket and the surrounding area. Granite from this quarry was used for monuments in many states. The quarry was operational from the 1860’s to the 1940’s. When the quarry was abandoned, much of the equipment and structures were left just as they were. The site has stayed the same, until now. You can go and check it out and walk among the abandoned equipment and structures. Just be careful, don't climb on anything as it is rusty, and fragile from wear and tear from Mother nature. You can also go swimming in the quarry in the summer, just no diving as it's dangerous for your own safety.

Visiting from out of State and went on a hike with family. Beckets Quarry is a great place for an afternoon or all day hike. Trails are clearly marked and the Quarry history is abundant. Lots to see and photograph here. Hikes are easy to moderate had s great afternoon and took lots of great photos. Parking is free after Labor Day and the lot is decent sized. Great family adventure.

Awesome place to go for a walk & do some exploring. $10 parking per car. Not much of a hike to the quarry. Could go swimming/ cliff jumping if that is of any interest to you. (At your own risk) They range 20ft 40ft 60ft & last 80ft. I’ve jumped from the 20 & 40 nothing higher but I have seen people do 60 & 80.
