Amazing professional theatre without the hassle of parking in Boston. Local talent gets to shine in this jewel of a theatre. Besides a great theater company to see professional productions, GBSC is an amazing place for kids age 8-18 to get experience with acting. There are summer camps and productions during the school year. The summer camps are open to all kids while the other productions require auditions and in scoring a role. The teaching staff are professionals and the philosophy is clearly about growing both the actor and the child. Some camps are just about putting on a great show - but GBSC emphasizes techniques, improv, dance, singing and just being supportive of each other. My son loves the community of kids and his teachers/ directors. The plays are all supported by professional technical crews so the productions always run perfectly and well organized. My only serious gripe is that their summer camp Day is not long enough for parents and their extended day program is super expensive for sitting on the floor in a big empty room.
