This was a great spot for a weekend getaway. In November, it was very quiet - we did not see anyone else here at all. Very convenient to Phoenicia for all your dining/provisions, and only 20 minutes away from Slide, Wittenberg, Cornell, and Giant Ledge/Panther Mountain. The cabin had a lot more kitchen equipment than I expected, so you could easily cook real meals if you wanted. Check in/out was easy and convenient (a checkbook is helpful!) I'd definitely come back to Simpler Times if I am in the Catskills again, and I'd certainly recommend to anyone else who's planning to visit!

My boyfriend and I stayed at the log cabin on a weekend stay. Our primary reason for going was to hike Giant Ledge and Panther mountains. After our rigorous hike it was the perfect place to relax and recover. The cabin was clean and fully supplied. The owners are a delight as well! Hassle free stay!! We are planning another stay and this time staying an additional night. Cant wait!

My boyfriend and I decided to spend a few days here with our two teens and a tween. We rented the largest cabin available (sleeps four, technically, but the tween was short enough to sleep comfortably on the sofa). The cabin was clean, comfortable, and well-stocked with towels, dishes, etc. Games and reading material were available in the office, but we had brought our own. We really enjoyed the quiet and comfort, and it was an excellent base of operations for our exploration of the area. 15 minutes from Woodstock, 30 minutes from the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome and Dutchess County Fairgrounds, there was so much to see and do, we plan to go back next year, if Susan and Vince will have us!
