Took my son skiing on the bear den side. Conditions were perfect for my little learner. Well designed side with plenty of long greens. He loved the covered magic carpet. Lift staff very helpful. Lodge at base had plenty of accommodations, convenient for the family with budding skiers and snowboarders.

We are not expert skiers, but were able to enjoy our visit to this place. Friendly trails, huge and well organized. Shuttle to the parking lot although is walking distance to the kids area. Very different than othe resorts and really nice. Food is good and rental shop people were very nice. Buy your lift ticket prior to arrive. They had more snow than other resorts we visited on 12/21

We have been going up to Lake Placid the last couple of years and have hiked Whiteface a number of times. It's a fantastic mountain to hike. We've come down from the top and up from the bottom. On a clear day it's tough to top the views at the peak. The best part though is at the end of the hike when you can have a glass of wine or beer whiling sitting out on the deck at the base!

The fall foliage at the mountain incredible if you visit in autumn, which is usually early in the month of October. I took the gondola ride for $25 up to the upper mountain range and it was fun. The trees were gold, red and orange with fall color. The ride was long, steep and quite an adventure. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful. No idea about the actual winter sport here as I am not a skier.

Yes you can, if I'm not mistaking it's around $20 for the scenic view ticket. It's beautiful from up there it is worth it!
No, but Titus Mountain does.
Not positive, but if you've yet to check, the resort itself might have options. I saw a lot of campers parked there on my last visit.
I believe Adirondack Trailways does but it takes forever. Amtrak goes to Elizabethtown (I believe there is a shuttle from there) also takes forever. But Placid is worth it!
