If they gave you a number, can you share that number with your experience? If you got an appointment, can you share how you got it and what it's for? What is the number, where you can hear them, but they don't speak to you? It's obvious that dealing with the SSA workers as well as online is a nightmare. I think that we can help each other by providing the pages and numbers that do work.

I just made a call to this location on 2/17/2022 and was waiting on the line for a representative and was then connected. However, after connecting their volume was extremely low and I could barely hear a person on the line, a lady; following - I said that I had a hard time hearing them and then they suddenly hung up after I had waited a good amount of time and still needed assistance. This is extremely unprofessional.

I’ve tried for a month now to send in my ss-5 form with the proper forms they asked for and they just sent it back with no explanation and now when I call, they hang up and don’t redirect me to a representative.

The DPSS Office. They have all the requirement information plus they issue the cards/benefits right there.
No as of 4/7/22 you don't need to have one, make sure you have your ID, Birth Certificate or passport with you! Your wait is short.
You have to call, the phone number you can find it in Google,. and they Will tell you what documents you will need and they will give you an appointment to drop the documents off,and you'll get your social security card in a week

No..you need to call the ss office from your area and schedule an appointment, I called and set an appointment for next day was quick and easy

For the Wilshire location, You need to call the number on the glass wall at the office and make the appointment first. Then they will give you the available dates for your visit so you can drop off your documents in the Dropbox inside of the office. The guard will let you in with the appointment. You should try calling the number of the office location on Google. Otherwise visit the office and dial the number that's on the glass wall.
