Hey everyone, I have never written a review on a business, however I feel compelled to do so in this case. SAVE YOURSELF 2K by taking your car/ truck to another shop. I recently ran into some issues with my truck and had it towed there since they have good ratings on google and yelp. I have never been so disappointed and frustrated in my life! These people will take advantage and upcharge you. I delt with a Scott character, who is completely your friend until you call him out on his outrageous prices. In the end, I saved 2K to fix my truck by taking it elsewhere. This included having my truck towed to another place and paying Schmidty’s diagnosis fee 175$. (By the way Schmidtys people did not help put my tire back o…. the one they took off to “Diagnose” my truck, instead they mocked us as I tried to help the tow truck company driver put our jack on and tire back on). Finally, let me be very clear, I saved 2k! Schmidys wanted to charge me 3K for the job and I was charged 1K down the street for the same parts/ same work. It took a skilled mechanic 3 hrs, Schmidtys estimate was 6-8 hrs and over charged for parts….. Save yourself the frustration, there are plenty of auto shops that are reasonable within 1 mile on Gothard. Huntington Beach resident. BTW when I told my neighbors this I story they had a saying…. “Getting Screwed at Schmidtys” I guess it has been going on for a while.

Being that Kia is right down the street, they're well versed on the problems with that line. In two seperate instances, they were able to diagnose 2 problems over the phone. One was a recall (which was honored by Kia), the other was an exhaust system failure. Highly recommend them!

My story: I started using this place from a cheap oil change ad I saw in the paper. Fast forward 15 years and this is my go to spot for all of my family cars and our RV, these guys and girls have kept our vehices running safe and I alwasy feel I am treated fairly and given options with any issues. WIfe and I are on a cross country RV trip currently and our college age children are still in the HB area. Today one child called me and said she thinks she has a slow leak in one of her tires, instantly I said she should take to Schmidy's. She just called me and said she went by today and they took care of her with great service eventhough she did not make an appointment. The good feeling I have that my child is taken care of while I'm on the other side of the country is a priceless feeling. 5 stars is not enough.

I chose to buy a set of tires from this shop because we had taken the car here for oil changes. I was ripped off. Plain and simple. They agreed to do a price match with Costco on some Michelin tires. I wanted to do business with a local shop so we bought from them. The reason they recommended changing the tires was because they were over 6 years old. THE TIRES THAT THEY PUT ON WERE 2 and 3 OLD WHEN THEY PUT THEM ON AS NEW! When I called for an explanation I was told it was because it was it was a price match and that was what their supplier had in stock. The staff was completely indifferent to the problem.
