I love there tacos🌮, definitely don't slack on the meat they put on them. There tortas are phenomenal especially the Cuban😋. I'm usually stuffed after eating half it. I highly recommend coming here. Tell them I sent you.

I can no longer recommend this restaurant. I used to go all the time and loved it. Very good and reliably authentic Mexican food. But today, when I asked for water, they brought 2 bottles of Poland Spring. I said no thank you, tap is fine. They brought ice tap water in their reusable cups. When the bill came, I noticed an odd charge without a name (it literally said “extra charge”) and I asked what that was for. They replied: for your tap water. I was surprised and asked, “you charged me for TAP water in your own washable cups?” They said they started charging last week because people were declining their bottled water because it cost more. Well, that and because I dislike the waste all these plastic bottles create when reusable cups exist. Needless to say, I won’t be returning. I understand restaurants had a hard time during Covid and I supported many by ordering take out. But when a restaurant starts nickel and dining me when I eat in, they can kiss my business good bye. Providing free tap water is the “cost” of running a restaurant. What’s next? Will I pay a fee to use the bathroom?

I absolutely love the pastor tacos at La Pena and eat them at least twice a week! I have eaten tacos at several other restaurants/trucks/gas stations in the area and La Pena has the best meats by far. At La Pena I'm always greeted with a smile and "Hey! How are you! Nice to see you! Welcome!" I love the people just as much as the tacos.
