I never worry about my mom living at Brandywine Living at Longwood. I know she is being cared for in the most dignified way, in a clean and beautiful facility, staffed with wonderful people.

Brandywine Living at Longwood has been a “god-send” for my 96-year-old Mom and our family. She is fiercely independent, was adamant about living in her own home but progressively compromised with worsening dementia and chronic anxiety to where safety matters were regularly occurring and her health was deteriorating due to mis-managed meds and poor diet. She would neither acknowledge this reality nor entertain help in the home, and would immediately shut down discussion on moving into an assisted living residence. As we explored different assisted living options in Southeastern PA, Brandywine Living uniquely distinguished themselves from my very first meeting with Kelly, my primary business contact. Upon listening and understanding the particulars of our situation, she briefed her colleagues on the leadership team and quickly arranged for all of us to meet. They patiently listened to and probed into our situation. They provided TREMENDOUSLY helpful guidance and coaching to me in addition to thoroughly orienting me to their community and practices. I felt we were forming a trusted partnership which completely distinguished them from others who I met with. When my wife and I moved my Mom into her new living arrangement we were greeted as we pulled up to the front door by the leadership team and others who immediately welcomed and assisted with my reluctant Mom’s matriculation into her new situation. They were terrific to my Mom and to my wife and me. Eighteen months after her arrival, the partnership continues. It is genuine. It is how they work. My Mom’s care has been excellent on so many levels, albeit not easy at times. The staff, nurses, and caregivers know her, understand her situation, care about her, and help her. The hands-on leadership team under Paola Fusaro knows her and her situation and needs and interacts with her regularly. Their availability to me for guidance, communication (by email and in person) and coaching has been gracious, encouraged and very helpful. And, then there is basic operational excellence to provide residents a safe, enjoyable, and positive living experience in a clean, beautifully appointed facility and property. Of particular note during this very scary and threatening COVID 19 pandemic has been the rigor, discipline, professionalism, commitment, and persistence of the whole team to implement and follow practices and procedures to keep their very vulnerable residents and themselves safe from COVID. Their results speak loudly for themselves. Paola, her leadership team, and staff totally get it and are committed. We could not be more pleased with our decision and have total confidence that my Mom’s care and safety are in very good hands

Prior to becoming a Realtor I worked in the Senior care industry for over a decade. My job was to get to know and market to all the assisted living places throughout Chester County. Brandywine at Longwood is consistently on top of their game and it's all about the residents! You only need to look as far as how tenured the management staff is at Brandywine...because a happy place to work is a happy place to live. I can say with confidence that I would refer clients to Brandywine at Longwood.

As an only adult child and sole caregiver, I had the difficult decision to make of placing my mother in an assisted living facility. This occurred after a second fall that re-injured an already fractured hip. After a short stay in a different rehab facility, I was told that she was going to be discharged. I knew I could care for her after work, but she could absolutely not be able to be left alone during the day. Fortunately, I visited Brandywine Senior Living that is 2 1/2 miles away from my home. After speaking with the director of community relations and touring the facility, I was confident that this was the right choice for my mother. The staff, starting with the executive director and everyone working at Brandywine, makes me feel that mom is in the hands of caring and compassionate people who truly love working with the senior population. The nurses and caregivers are wonderful, patient, and kind. The residents are encouraged to participate in activities such as paint night, bingo, trivia games, attend nightly movies, day trips such as a Phillies game, musical entertainment, and numerous other activities. Residents like my mother, who either use a walker or wheelchair, are never left out of the fun. Family members are also invited, by personal invitation, to special events. Mom has been a resident for 6 months and my husband and I have attended a Valentine's Day Dance and a Mother's Kentucky Derby Day Brunch, both of which were catered by the chef and dining staff. To top it off, there was live entertainment at each. When I observe the interaction between the staff and residents at these events, it confirms that I made the right choice for my loved one. My mind and heart are at peace when I am at work. What more could I ask for than to know she is being treated with dignity, respect, and love by those staff members who enjoy working with the elderly.
