Pretty good crossing too see the switching around the yard, usually has 2 to 3 locomotives idling near the crossing.

Why does BNSF pull their locomotive right in front of the Omni hotel and leave it idling for hours? Many times, the train has room to be further south into the railyard and disturb less people if they know they will be idling for hours.

It's what you call deadhead crew. That means they've been on the train over 10 hours, and they had to stop right therethen, another crew takes over between 5 to 6 hours before the other group takes over
