The staff here bullied and harassed a relative of mine in less than a month that she resided here. For example, she was kicked out last night for calling the cops because she felt triggered and unsafe. Earlier yesterday morning, the staff made her do a urine drop test because they falsely assumed she was using drugs. Her test result came back NEGATIVE! AND the staff physically went to the bathroom and watched my sister drop urine while she was exposed from the waist on down. That is perverse and a huge violation of here rights. I told my sister to put in a report/complaints immediately. I thought the staff here are supposed to keep resided sage and I thought this shelter was strong in following practices of the Bible?! Hypocrites work here. And they don't care about the residents at all. They abuse their power and lie about their beds availability. Wolves in sheep clothing. All you are here is another profit and burden to the shelter staff. My sister worked all day from 12-8pm and would be abused mentally/emotionally by a staff member who falsely accuses here of not working. She missed her chore assignments because she was at work. She caught three buses by 7 am to work super early to be at work by 11:30 am. No compassion whatsoever from the staff. I'm not surprised by their negligence with residents safety. But the demons here need to be exposed for their evil doings. Stop donating money to this shelter. They don't care about their residents here!

Attempted to make a sizable food donation for the holiday season. Was turned away from the first location, told to go to the family center and was assured they would take it. Got there and was told only a certain person could take the food and they were gone. This was at 2 in the afternoon during one of the biggest charitable times of year. Ultimately ended up giving everything directly to the homeless camp across from the mission

They welcomed me and my girl with open arms they accepted me despite my past and are helping me become a better mother daughter sister and friend to those around me. They are teaching me to live again and to live for my lord and savior Jesus. There life skill classes are not only informative but I can teach others what I learn so they may also obtain this knowledge and live a Christian and healthy life.

I didn’t want to give one star because at the end of the day, it was a place to go when I had nowhere. Downstairs bathrooms are very moldy smelling and dirty. You can smell the reek of urine before entering woman’s bathroom. The Showers down there too. Mold. Food wasn’t very good or fresh usually, and for some reason every time chips and snacks were served for lunch they were expired by months... but I understand because everything is mostly donated. It is in need dire need of renovation. Very old building. you can be out job searching all day but If you miss a chore you get written up- instead of them re assigning the chore to someone who sat around the shelter all day doing nothing or having some compassion. There was favoritisms. Which should never be allowed in a shelter. Very religious.... very centered on religion. No real resources for pregnant women at shelter. Case manager doesn’t give gas cards unless you have car insurance, but if someone is homeless and only has a car to their name, how will they afford insurance until they are on their feet? Won’t they need gas to get to work/interviews? These people don’t have much understanding for HOMELESS PEOPLE WHO HAVE SUFFERED TRAUMAS AND MAY BE MENTALLY ILL, one wrong move they’re out on the street. Again, very very dirty place. I don’t know if it was because it was a dark period in my life- or if it’s because the inside of the shelter is outdated, dimly lit with poorly chosen color schemes- but it’s not very spirit lifting. Pregnant women are not given extra snacks or food. Even if there are extra snacks and food. But it’s a last resort place. Just be ready to have to leave at any minute, so make sure you walk on egg shells and know the rules.

Thank you so much and what is restart if I may ask
Yes! They have a donation box right out side the building.
7:00am.......12:00pm........5:00pm
It will take help from the staff, and you'll need to actually demonstrate being homeless.
You call in to the shelter and staff are great me my husband and son stay here
Call them, there should be other organizations for pregnant women. I think this place is for men only.
You have to be married, but your boyfriend can stay in the men's shelter overnight. I would call before you get there to make sure they have space. Praying for y'all to have peace and security.
I'd say call and ask. The worst you will get is a no.
Christy is right, Case Mansgers have to follow Hippa
They have a board of directors.
Yes, keep calling until you get a bed or come to 1310 Wabash
Try restart they will let you in without being married
No. There are not many whom are prepared for these challenges, but is also in fact on the path... Christian like, it prays at meal time. Food there shouldn't be like I've seen, donations are given daily from grocery stores, feeding homeless like animals. I can eat better commiting a crime and then being locked up than that. These are people, not animals. Humanity. Advance education for people to become more aware of mental disorders, and communication with mental disabled. If, you don't know, you just don't know.
No... there is a bus stop at 12 & Prospect 3 or 4 blocks away..
Call to find out. The Salvation Army needs help also.
Legally married can stay together. They do check.
7am- 9am or after 6pm are the best times to call. Keep trying though- eventually someone will answer
You should call first....to see if there is a bed available
You have to call repeatedly to get in. 8:30, 1:30, 6:30.
No ma'am. You have to be married. He can go to the men's shelter.
Yes children can be there. The shelter is for women and families. They'll provide resources but you have to go out and take care of business. If there is room and you have never been there before, you'll get to stay there for a month. They have a couple of long term programs but you have to meet the criteria.
Yes. They are full.
